FORMAT AND MODES OF PARTICIPTION
The emphasis of the workshop is on the applications of smoothing methods to data. Several sessions will be centred around discussion of specific datasets, which are available on the data set portion of this web site. We hope that workshop participants will take a look at the data sets before the workshop. Other sessions will consist of more traditional-style presentations.

You can participate by presenting a paper and/or joining in data analysis and/or listening and learning. There is no registration fee for the workshop. However, for logistical reasons we ask that you please register by Monday June 1. Accommodations should be reserved before that date, by filling out the appropriate information on the registration form. If you would like to present a paper, please submit an abstract by Friday May 16 (this date has been extended).

Some funding may be available. To be considered for funding, please contact Nancy Heckman (heckman@stat.ubc.ca) as soon as possible. Graduate students are particularly encouraged to attend.
