The Department training is stipulated as a part of the teaching assistant assignment. All of the activities are GTA-led, but a faculty member will provide oversight and guidance when required. TA trainers write a report to the faculty member in charge of TA Training on GTA progress, including the challenges and the accomplishments. The Department faculty then meets each year for an informal brown bag discussion on quality of undergraduate teaching. Statistics is a small department with very good communication among members. In addition, the regular monitoring and individual assessments allow us to act quickly to resolve any problems.
