Short Term Consulting Service (STCS)

The Short Term Consulting Service (STCS) is run entirely by the graduate students of the Department of Statistics at the University of British Columbia who have completed the course Stat 550, Techniques of Statistical Consulting, of the statistics graduate program.

The aim of this service is to offer professional statistical assistance on short term (less than 15 hours) projects to both the UBC community and off-campus clients.

The STCS is designed to complement SCARL services by accepting short-term projects at lower hourly rates than SCARL's professional staff hourly project rates.

Each project submitted to the STCS will be assigned to one consultant. Generally, the consultant will give you a quote after a first meeting with the estimated time required to complete your project.

Whether it is for a quick software tip, an explanation of certain statistical methodology, assistance in designing a study or an analysis of a data set, the STCS can help you. Have a look at our competitive hourly rates and submit your project!

If you are unsure about the suitability of the STCS for your project, contact us at stcs "at" stat dot ubc dot ca.
