Tuition:

For the most up-to-date information on tuition fees for graduate programs, please consult the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Tuition is paid in three installments throughout the year. These figures do not include applicable student fees, housing or other expenses.

Eligible international students receive the International Partial Tuition Scholarship (IPTS), which brings the cost of tuition down to the same level as domestic students. Essentially, international students at UBC do not pay higher tuition costs than domestic students do!

PhD students may be eligible for the PhD Tuition scholarship, which covers all tuition costs, but does not cover the cost of fees.

For comprehensive information regarding fees, tuition and living costs in Vancouver, please refer to the Faculty of Graduate Studies webpage.

Funding:

All students admitted to the graduate program in the Department of Statistics receive funding for their studies in the form of Research and Teaching Assistantships. Students can expect to receive approximately $17,000 per year for the first 20 months (MSc. students) or the first 36 months (PhD students). Additional funding after these time frames may be available. In addition to Departmental funding, there are many opportunities for international and domestic students to apply for scholarships and awards. Major awards include the UBC Affiliated Fellowships Awards, NSERC Post Graduate Scholarships, and the Vanier Scholarships Program. Potential PhD. applicants from the People's Republic of China are encouraged to apply for the China Council Doctoral Scholarship.

For more information on awards opportunities available to UBC graduate students, please consult the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
