The Statistics Department has several programs at the undergraduate level:
- Majors/Honours in Statistics
- Combined Majors/Honours in Economics and Statistics
- Combined Majors/Honours in Mathematical Sciences
- Combined Majors/Honours in Computer Science and Statistics
- Co-operative Education
- Minor in Statistics.
In addition, students can complete a degree in Statistics with a minor in another area, such as Economics or Commerce, with the approval of the Dean's Office in the Faculty of Science.
Program Requirements
There are three levels of requirements that must be satisfied. The first level of requirements applies to all students at UBC. The second level of requirements, which automatically satisfies the first level, applies to all students in the Faculty of Science.
For all our programs from 2010, CPSC 111 may be replaced by CPSC 110 and CPSC 211 may be replaced by CPSC 210.
The third level of requirements is at the Department level, and is also described in the UBC Calendar. Click here for a list of courses that have sufficient overlap that credit may be obtained for only one.
Admissions
Students interested in undergraduate Statistics programs must apply directly to the Faculty of Science.
For useful information concerning admissions procedures, deadlines and dates, visit the Faculty of Science section of the UBC Calendar.
Students cannot apply directly to the Statistics Department.
