UBC Girls in Data Science Summer Camp 2025

The Girls in Data Science Summer Camp at UBC is taking place again this summer!

This camp is designed for students in Grade 8-12 who identify as girls or other gender minorities. Throughout the camp, participants will explore various topics in data science and statistics, guided by experienced mentors in the field.

Event Details:

• Dates: July 7 – July 9, 2025
• Time: 10 am to 3 pm
• Location: UBC Vancouver Campus

Topics include:

• Introduction to data science, basics of Jupyter and R, data wrangling and data visualization
• Measures of central tendency and spread, statistical inference and sampling, observational studies vs. experiments
• Machine learning fundamentals, answering predictive questions (regression, classification)
