Not with ECON 326 or 328 alone. Although these courses are credit-excluded with STAT 306, they are not equivalent and do not satisfy the STAT 406 prerequisite. STAT 306 covers a substantial amount of material not found in either ECON course, and that material is essential for success in STAT 406.
If you have already taken ECON 326 or 328 and want to take STAT 406, you will need to complete STAT 306 first. Because of the credit exclusion, however, only one of these courses can count toward your degree, so taking STAT 306 will not add to your total credits.
If you think you may want to take STAT 406 in the future, we strongly recommend planning ahead and taking STAT 306 instead of ECON 326 or 328. Students in the Combined Major in Statistics and Economics may take STAT 306 in place of ECON 326.
