My research interests include Functional Data Analysis and applications to evolutionary biology; nonparametric regression via splines, kernels and local polynomials; shapes of regression functions; and Hidden Markov Models, with applications to animal and human movement data.

I am also interested in the development of resources to support active learning in undergraduate statistics courses. Typically, resources include an app and an associated activity sheet.  I work with people in the Flexible Learning in Statistics Group, and we post many of our resources on StatSpace.
