2014 Marshall Prize winner - Vivian Meng

The Departmental Awards Committee is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2014 Marshall Prize is Vivian Meng. Vivian completed her MSc. thesis “Extensions to the Multiplier Method for Inferring Population size” under the supervision of Professor Paul Gustafson. Vivian is now a PhD student in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at McGill University.

Congratulations Vivian!

The Marshall prize honours Professor Emeritus Albert Marshall for his scholarly contributions and his role in establishing the Department of Statistics at UBC. It is awarded to Statistics graduate students who have achieved great distinction. The award was established in 1994, and is made possible by the Statistics Fund for Excellence.
