Next week is the Statistical Society of Canada’s 2021 Annual Meeting.
Kicking off the week of scientific talks and social events, the SSC program includes a UBC Statistics (Vancouver) virtual mixer on Monday, June 7 from 9:30am to 10:30am PDT.
If you’re a current or former member of the department and you’ve already signed up for next week’s annual meeting, you’re encouraged to attend!
The mixer will be hosted by our Professor Nancy Heckman and Professor and Head, Paul Gustafson. They’re aiming to facilitate a social space for our colleagues that’s akin to the in-person gatherings at the SSC’s previous annual meetings.
Signing up for the mixer
To sign up for the mixer, look for the program entry University Gathering: UBC-Vancouver. Note that you do need to be registered for the annual meeting to attend.
If you aren’t yet registered for next week’s SSC 2021 Annual Meeting, you’re encouraged to have a look at the program and consider registering. (Note that the deadline to register is Friday, June 4 at 12pm PDT.) As just one incentive, Paul Gustafson will be giving the 2020 Gold Medal Address.
