Statistical Society of Canada Honours Prof. Alexandre Bouchard-Côté with the CRM-SSC Prize in Statistics

The Statistical Society of Canada (SSC) recently announced Statistics Professor Alexandre Bouchard-Côté as the recipient of this year’s CRM-SSC Prize in Statistics. The CRM-SSC Prize in Statistics is awarded annually by the Centre de recherches mathématiques and the Statistical Society of Canada to recognize a statistical scientist's professional accomplishments in research during the first fifteen years after earning a doctorate. 

Alex has received this award “for his contributions to computational statistics and machine learning, to the development and study of computational methods with impact in the theory, implementation and application of Monte Carlo inference and Bayesian statistics, and for his collaborative research in statistical and computational methods in phylogenetics, with impact in cancer genomics.”

Alex, along with fellow recipients of SSC awards, will be formally honoured during the SSC Annual Meeting's Banquet at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland in St. John’s on Monday, June 3, 2024.
