UBC Statisticians and Ecologists develop enhanced statistical models

Statistics PhD student Evan Sidrow and his research team propose more advanced Markov models in their study to better understand the behaviours of northern resident killer whales and other species. Evan’s co-supervisors, faculty members Marie Auger-Méthé (Statistics Department and the Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries) and Nancy Heckman (Statistics Department), also participated in the research.
